Summary
The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research to characterize stable isotopes in mosquitoes collected in and around Hakalau Forest National Wildlife Refuge (hereafter, Hakalau). Hakalau provides habitat for the most intact community of native Hawaiian birds remaining in Hawaiʻi, at least partly due to the lack of disease-carrying Culex quinquefasciatus mosquitoes (hereafter, Culex) in the higher elevation portions of the refuge.
